Chillers very helpful and a crucial piece of equipment for many industries.  Whether it’s keeping milk cool at a dairy plant, chilling your favorite beer at the brewery, cooling your house, or keeping an MRI machine up and running, there’s not doubt about it….we need our chillers.  So when a chiller malfunctions, or doesn’t seem to be running up to its potential….what do you do?  Most chiller issues can be resolved in house with a few basic steps.

First….identify the problem.  Here are a few of the most common problems chillers face:

Helium

If the helium level in your chiller is stating it is low, schedule a fill immediately! This will usually clear up the problem.  If this doesn’t resolve the issue you will need to contact your chiller service provider.

Power Outage

One of the most common causes of a chiller malfunction is a power outage.  If your chiller system is acting up it most likely means a breaker needs to be reset.  Many times bad weather or a storm can cause the breaker to fail.  Since weather is unpredictable, and an outage can happen at any time, make sure to know where all of the proper breaker boxes for your chiller are located.

Temperature

Another common problem with chillers is the temperature getting too hot for the machine.  If this happens you will need to call a service company (such as Chiller Services NW) to exam the machine and reset the temperature to the proper degree.

The most important thing to remember if your chiller starts acting up,  is that it’s not the end of the world.  There is always a solution to the problem. You just need to know where to look for help, and luckily Chiller Services NW is available to assistance 24/7.
